The conference will focus on our collective work to name and challenge forms of oppression by bringing together local educators and activists committed to racial justice. 
Our keynote speaker is Dr. Jamila Lyiscott — a community-engaged scholar, nationally renowned speaker, and the author of Black Appetite. White Food: Issues of Race, Voice, and Justice Within and Beyond the Classroom. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Social Justice Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she is the co-founder and co-director of the Center of Racial Justice and Youth Engaged Research. 
The conference will also include a panel of K-12 educators and community activists from California’s Central Coast and a curriculum fair featuring social justice lessons and resources created by Cal Poly School of Education credential and graduate students.
