Intentional Activism: Moving Leaders Beyond Courageous Conversations

Presented by the Center for Leadership, Equity, and Research (CLEAR) and Illuminate Education, the Central Valley Spring Institute is a one-day gathering bringing together P-12, business, and community leaders to develop equity steps “Beyond Courageous Conversations.” Sessions will focus on strategic forms of “intentional activism” in order to meet the needs of underserved students and communities.

Ken Magdaleno
Director of Educational Leadership, CSU Fresno
Dr. Kenneth R. Magdaleno serves as Director of the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at California State University, Fresno in addition to serving as Co-Director of the Collaborative Online Doctorate in Educational Leadership (CODEL) between CSU Channel Islands and CSU Fresno. He is the founding Executive Director of the Center for Leadership, Equity, and Research (CLEAR), a nonprofit active in the Central Valley and the state of California.

Abram Jimenez
Vice President of Education, Illuminate Education
Dr. Jimenez works with district leadership teams to develop improvement communities. He engages district leaders in comprehensive data-informed inquiry cycles to develop systems for strategic improvement, differentiated academic instruction, RtI, and SEL & behavioral support. Before joining Illuminate Education, Dr. Jimenez was the Chief of Schools in the San Francisco Unified School District.
